The first chargeable accident will be forgiven if it falls under one of the below categories:

At Fault Accident with PIP on claim (API) if PIP loss is > $1,000
At Fault Accident with DUI
One accident is forgiven per household. The forgiven accident can be pulled from the loss history or the MVR, and canBullet list be an accident involving a listed driver in the household or a permissive loss (driver was not listed in the household) except in GA, MD, NJ and PA.
For GA, MD, NJ, and PA, the forgiven accident will be the first chargeable (with Farmers) accident involving a listed driver in the household
If accident forgiveness is removed, the initial forgiven accident will begin to surcharge on the policy and affect premium. The forgiven loss can still effect other policy discounts like the defensive driver/mature driver discount. Accident Forgiveness applies effective renew.
Households reinstated 60 days or less will retain any FAR benefits that applied before the lapse.
Households reinstated over 60 days will not retain the previous FAR benefits. If the Open/Closed Book strategy has been implemented (FA2.5 in WA and Farmers Smart Plan Auto in other participating states), these customers will need to be written as new business in the Open Book product, subject to the acceptability rules for each program (Farmers vs. Bristol West)
